Stepping through the front door of Oscar & Mollie feels more like entering a funky boutique than a pet store. Then again, that’s exactly how owner Sylvie Savage wants her customers to feel.
It was Sylvie’s unabashed love of dogs and her desire to change the way humans — who she describes as ‘pet parents’ — care for them that inspired her to open Oscar & Mollie. Named after a black Labrador mix found in Quebec’s Laurentian mountains and a Wheaton Terrier rescued from a Toronto puppy mill, her business acts as a health and wellness centre for pets, with products and services that combine some of what you would find at a vet, a pet store and a health store pharmacy.
Her philosophy: take care of your pet the same way you would take care of yourself. For that reason, the store offers everything from nutritional and health counseling to chiropractic and homeopathic treatments, organic and raw food for pets, and a line of all natural health and beauty products.
