Massage therapist Shai Plonski has a simple litmus test for how well a massage has worked: the massage has to feel as good to give as to receive. "Doing a massage is like a moving meditation. You need to be compassionate and loving towards the client," he explains.
Running Still Light Centre since 2011, Shai practices what he preaches through his specialization in Thai massage treatments. A practitioner since 2001, he also runs workshops and classes and generally develops the centre as a hotspot for the best training and treatments in Thai massage. "We do a range of both vocational training and learning for pleasure in Thai massage," he notes.
Professional training at the centre is accredited to relevant massage trade bodies and, on completion, participants receive a licence to practice from the city of Toronto.
