Chelsie Hutchinson has been living her dream of being a small business owner while still being able to stay at home and raise her three children. In 2002, she tried to go back to work after her first son was born, but when it didn’t work out she became inspired to get into the candle business. “I wanted the candles for myself and I thought other home owners moving into a new home might appreciate the small thank-you-for-your-business gift, so I approached some realtors about doing gift baskets and they thought it was a good idea.”
Chelsie had found her calling and BasketBelle was born. She started small, but is now taking on major corporate projects and continues to grow her business. “I started with some friends,” she says, “and then just through word of mouth I’ve been able to increase my business. It’s been good.”
BasketBelle works with companies on everything from décor and centrepieces for big events to simply providing gift baskets to be put up as door prizes. Chelsie also does baby baskets, house warming gifts and wedding centrepieces.
