Occasional brain freeze aside, what's not to love about ice cream? Especially locally made, handcrafted small batches from Rocky Point Ice Cream, a labour of love from owners Jamie and Yvette Cuthbert.
Established in 1997, the business has morphed from a tiny kiosk into a brick-and-mortar spot neighbouring Rocky Point Pool in Port Moody's Rocky Point Park. The year-round, destination-worthy ice cream shop attracts tourists, locals and people from across Metro Vancouver who all come to indulge in their favourite frozen fix. The team at Rocky Point Ice Cream scoops treats for more than 350,000 people a year from their store and roving ice cream trucks.
"People drive past all those other handcrafted ice cream places to go out of their way to get ours," says Yvette. "Usually they'll phone ahead and make sure we have the flavour they want."
