At Tails, founder and owner Diane Schickerowsky is consumed with the well being of all animals — including yours.

It’s easy though to walk right past Tails' unassuming storefront. No mewing kittens or playful puppies try to convince you to take them home. The windows don’t even display the follies of today’s besotted owners. But when pooch-walking East Yorkers nip into Tails, they know they’ll come out with their pets’ needs fulfilled and their own questions answered.

    Over the years, I have learned from Diane so much about anything I could possibly want to know about animals. The woman is a font of knowledge. Unfortunately, I live far from her lovely shop, so it has been awhile since my last visit.
