Indoor Residential Wood Burning Prohibited Until 15 September, 2025.
Metro Vancouver prohibits indoor residential wood burning on Bowen Island from May 15, 2025 until September 15, 2025. The only exceptions to this is if the appliance is the sole source of heat in the home, or in case of emergency.
Anyone who uses an indoor residential wood burning appliance throughout the year must declare their use of best burning practices here.

Bowen Island Municipality’s Water Conservation Guidelines are based on the Metro Vancouver Drinking Water Conservation plan in order to encourage water conservation and promote awareness.
Lawn watering is allowed one morning per week. Flower and vegetable gardens can be watered with sprinklers from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., or anytime using hand watering, soaker hoses, or drip irrigation.
