My second visit to Groovy Tuesday's and it appears to have only got better. The restaurant has changed ownership, decor and staff since my last visit there over a year ago, however it was fantastic. The owner is front and center and actually served us, the dining room has a more downtown Toronto or New York feel and the menu and food was first class, not to mention reasonably priced. Great value, we will return sooner next time.

It was our first time visiting Groovy Tuesday's. We never would have expected such a great restaurant to be hiding in Barrie! Everything about our meals was above and beyond, although I would have enjoyed a very chocolatey dessert since it was Valentine's Day! The duck and the steak were excellent, the fruit with the duck was a great blend, the potatoes rosti were superb. The Striploin was great as well, frites were excellent. The Cooper's Creek wine was very good as well, we'll have to find that wine ourselves! Thanks for the wonderful Valentine's meal, we will definately be back and be referring friends!!
Great little Bistro with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Servers were knowledgable and efficient. Food tasted fresh with wonderful flavours. Great value combined with a memorable experience. Highly recommended!

While in Barrie, Ontario on business related to citizenship, we "discovered" Groovy Tuesday Bistro across Collier Street from City Hall. We were looking for a place for a nice social luncheon and as we pondered the posted menu on the outdoor chalkboards, a staff member (whom we guessed to be the manager) noticed us, came outside, greeted us warmly, and invited us in.
The food was well prepared and presented in proportions that were ample without being excessive. The friendly, attentive staff and the simple, neat, clean decor both contributed to a pleasant atmosphere.
When we arrived at about 11:30 a.m., no other patrons were there, but within a few minutes other groups (two to four individuals each) began arriving and occupied most of the tables. All seemed to be getting the same high quality of service that we received.
We will recommend this restaurant highly to others and will eat there again as the opportunity presents itself.
We enjoyed all of our meals, but the apple crumble was very disappointing. It was dry, it wasn't very flavourable and it was not worth $6 ($8 with ice cream!)
