Hello fellow restaurantinca goers, my wife and I recently dropped 100 dollars at this restaurant (without alcohol or beverages). We live close buy and decided to check it it a day ago. We were sadly disappointed with our dinner service. It started at 6pm being sat down immediately buy the owner (no introduction but found out as the night went on). All in all the place appears to be a nice astashblishent for the area. Our order was taken then the waiting began. The owner who was also working the floor with one other server took our order and the night began from there. We ordered the calamari as our appetizer which came in a reasonable time. Our mains took well over and hour and a half to arrive. I had he gnocchi and my wife ordered the penne ala vodka. Both were disappointing. After eating my first course i patently waited for my second I ordered the chicken. I waited an additional 45 minutes to get. We were basically ignored throughout the dinner service and watched the owner talk, hug, kiss and praise all other patrons while we waited. It appears this is more of a social setting for the owners friends and not a place for new customers. I finally got my chicken right before I gave up and was requesting my bill. The chicken was moist but unseasoned and bland. It took an additional 20 minutes for the bill after eating to get our bill. I will not be re attending and want to warn future outsiders not to attend this restaurant without membership.....
I've never written a review (and we enjoy our dinners out at various restaurants), but this place really deserves one! My husband and I drive from Pickering to have dinner here and it's always worth the drive! The ambience, service and food are all amazing! My favourite dish is the Arctic Char - it's so good that even my husband ordered it once (he's not one to order fish for dinner). He's stated that the lamb is the best he's ever had. Franc and his staff at Posticino always make our dining experience a memorable one!
Food and Service is fine--- I question the wisdom of the owners, however, in displaying a picture of the mass murderer Che Guevera in the window of their restaurant. For Cubans and Eastern Europeans who suffered through the horrors of communism, this seems most inappropriate. Hard to patronize a restaurant wanting to display such a horrific image.
My boyfriend took me to Posticino for my 25th Birthday on September 13 (2008). He had promised me he would take me there from the day we meet which was about 6 years ago LOL. He finally suprised me by taking me to Posticino on my birthday. When we arrived he told the owner we had reservations, unfortunately we weren't in the book! My boyfriend had mistakenly made reservations at another resturant! However, even though the resturant was packed as always, we we treated with the utmost respect annd hospitality. We were seating fairly quickly! The service was excellent and quick. The food was delicious! I had the Gnocchi with Gorgonzola & crushed walnuts. Absolutley amazing! When we had finished our dinner, my boyfriend suprised my with a piece of Tiramisu, melt in your mouth piece of heaven! To top it off, the staff sang happy birthday to me:o). The owner gave me the traditional Italian kiss (2 cheeks) and wished me a very Happy Birthday. Before we left he came to out table and poured us two flutes of Limoncello on the house. Overall the service, food, atmosphere was outstanding. What an unforgettable night!
This is the best & friendliest Italian Restaurant in the GTA. We have been going here for 9 years and watched it develop into a full house every night. The owners are second to none, the food is always the freshest and for special occassions, they are the best organizers. We have had parties up to 20 people there for different occassions. Great place, great people, value for your money and always a treat for the two of us who eat out at least twice a week - so we know good restaurants.
