Motivated by the frustration they felt on the long drives required to find maternity clothes, Beth and Ben opened Steveston Village Maternity after the birth of their first-born child. Since 2011, the friendly, family-run store has been providing local moms and families with good quality maternity clothing, children’s clothes (from newborn to age 5); nursing essentials and baby gear, ranging from a soother to a baby carrier.
“Once we had our daughter, we really fell in love with the community here. We realized it was a growing community of families, but we felt there was something missing. And as new parents, what was missing was a place close by to pick up baby essentials,” says Beth.
Working seven days a week can be challenging for young parents, but despite this, Beth and Ben both take great pleasure out of running the shop and helping out local families with all their maternity and baby needs. “Obviously our two kids are our number one priority," says Beth, "but we also feel the business is another child, so it’s about finding that balance."
