Sapporo's always been a pretty good all you can eat Japanese restaurant, but since their renovation the atmosphere in particular's really improved. You still only get 1 and a half hours, but for that amount of time the food is well worth what you pay. I've been here many times with friends and they've all enjoyed the food. If you come here for dinner many nights it's hard to get a table, so make sure to make a reservation.
Sapporo is by far my most favorite sushi restaurant! Not only is the sushi excellent, the service is also excellent and wow would you look at that.. ther Atmosphere is excellent aswell. The food served at sapporo is always fresh and great tasting, I always chew slowly just to make sure I dont miss any flavors in their food :P. The service is amazing, I mean I can order something and for once it will be served to me in a short 2 or 3 minutes. (and the waitresses are soo cute XD ) aha anyways. The atmosphere is awesome aswell. The lighting is just perfect and everything makes it that much more relaxing. I always come here for sushi and I will always and forever continue to come here for AYCE because I have never been dissapointed once. lol oh and btw. Just to talk about how awesome the service is. One time that I went I brought my own chopsticks because they are legendary and i wanted to you know, eat legendary sushi with legendary chopsticks. Well i forgot them on the table and i had already left and just as I was about to pull out one of the workers came and brought them to me :) .. It was very nice of them to do so and thats what I mean when they got aswesome service. SAPPORO FTW!!!!
I go here with friends from work regularly. We make a monthly thing out of it. The food is fresh and abundant, the servers are great!! They are friendly, pleasant, and try to be quick.
I dislike eating fish, in general, and the smell of fish is disgusting. This place NEVER smells like day old fish, like some of the other sushi places in Hamilton do.
When you are with a large group it's best for each person to only order 2-3 things each at a time, otherwise the chefs get confused and forget to make some of it. We generally order 3 things each at a time, and the chefs plate everything so it'll fit on the table easier. So, depending where you sit at the table, some times stuff from the people on each of the ends get put on the same plate. But who cares? You pass all the plates around the table anyway to share, right?
I strongly recommend going for the lunch buffet as you have less wait times, and it's cheaper.
This is not a 300$ a head Japanese meal, as some other reviewers seem to have expected.
It is really good tasty food, with a great selection, and good value.
The best are the sushi rolls, hand rolls, beef with enoki mushrooms...
I would stay away from the sashimi, as you may be let down. The quality of fish is just not there.
I have been to this restaurant a few times and have always had a great experience. Before coming here, I had never really tried sushi. The first time, I visited with a group of friends who had tried it on many different occasions and really enjoyed it. They suggested items on the menu for me to try that I would not have otherwise chosen. Once we ordered, the food was served almost immediately to us by the friendly staff. They were very attentive to us, and seemed to be there whenever we needed to order again, or if we needed refills, etc.
The food itself was delicious. The portions were appropriate, and the luxury of ordering anything on the menu was very appealing. After trying other sushi restaurants, I would have to say that the sushi here is first-rate. It’s filled with flavour, and always looks very presentable. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to the sushi noob and expert alike. With plenty of selection and delicious food, you can’t go wrong.
